Chris Skrip was born on October 29, 1997 in Chesapeake, Virginia. He is a classically trained percussionist. His first performance was at the age of 5 in his school talent show, with which he wrote his first percussion piece. He joined the School of Rock in Norfolk, Virginia in September 2010. He was the percussionist for the Performance Band. Chris joined the School of Rock in Norfolk and eventually was selected for the School of House Band, which performed at multiple venues throughout the Hampton Roads area of Virginia, including ZooGrooves, Harborfest and the Neptune Festival. He left the School of Rock in the fall of 2012 to form a band. Shortly thereafter, Rellen was born!
Chris has been a percussionist for his middle school performance and jazz bands, and a member of the district band. He was a member of the “Pit” with Dominion Storm Indoor Drumline for the 2012 season. In high school, he is a member of the symphonic and marching bands. His musical genres include progressive rock, classic rock, jazz, reggae, bolero, and classical.
Chris’ passion for drumming runs so deep, that he named his dog Zildjian, after his drum cymbals. His greatest drumming inspirations are Dave Grohl of the Foo Fighters, and Neil Peart of Rush.
